How to use the Eventlog

The eventlog is a page that contains detailed information about changes made in Impero by all users.

Everyone has access to the eventlog but you are only able to see your own events if you don't have the administrator role or the log administrator role.

You find the Eventlog within your Impero solution by clicking the Dashboard and then “Eventlog” in the top, right corner.

What you can view in the Eventlog

In the eventlog you will be able to see different information including:

  • The exact time an event took place
  • Which user created the event
  • What category the event is related to - for instance a user, a control program or a control
  • The type of event - for instance when someone logged in, changed something within a control, created a control or deleted an item within the solution.
  • Event: Here you can see the exact event. Some events are in green, and those you can click on to see further details about the event. The details are in code format though, so it can require a bit of knowledge to read this.

You are able to adjust the view of the Eventlog and thereby access further information. You can modify the view by clicking “Adjust View” in the top, right corner.

Search within the Eventlog

In case you are searching for a specific event, you can also search for it using the search bar on the top. You can enter multiple different search criteria.

Narrow down the search even further by selecting a certain time frame in the calendar in the top right corner.

Export the Eventlog

You also have the option to export information from the Eventlog to an Excel spreadsheet:

  1. Select the wished time frame in the calendar. It is recommended to take a small a time frame as possible, so the downloaded excel file won’t be too big.
  2. Click on the little Export-icon in the top, left corner of the view. Afterwards your export will be complete.
