In most modules of Impero, you have the option to search for specific terms and filter out irrelevant terms. This article tells you how it works and how to make use of it.
The search function appears in the Control management, User management, Risk management and Tag management. The search bar is always located at the top, and when you hover the mouse over it, the bar is outlined in a green color as seen on below image:
2. What can you for instance for filter for?
3. How does the search function work?
1. How to use the search bar?
- Click in the search bar and start entering the search term
- A dropdown shows up, and here you can select the item you are searching for. If the item is not showing up at first, you can scroll down and find more options.
2. What can you for instance filter for?
- Control program
- Control
- User name
- Group name
- Period, date
- Tag
- Etc.
3. How does the search function work?
The search function uses two different logics:
- When using filters within the same category, the search filter uses an "AND"-functionality (see example below).
- When using filters within different categories, the search filter uses an "OR"-functionality (see example below).
Example of search in the same category
When you enter two or more search terms for the same category e.g. "Control Program" or "Name", the search will filter for all items that contain either of those search terms. If you for instance search for "SoX" and "ESG", which both are terms found in the category "Control Program" as seen on below figure, all items that are related to either of the two search terms will appear on the list.
Example of search in different categories
If you enter search terms for different categories, the search will however only filter out the items that are related to all search terms. In the below figure there are two search terms entered related to the category "Control Program" and one search term related to the category "Activities". Therefore, it will only show those items with 1 activity within the filtered control programs.
4. How to exclude data?
Enter a minus symbol followed by the content to be excluded, e.g. a program "-IT General Controls" and click on the identified item. Then, results from this program is successfully excluded from the view. The excluded search will also be displayed in red, as illustrated below.
