Version 2.48.0 (06-05-2026): Entity Management & Impero Assist

Entity Management

Many organisations operate across multiple subsidiaries, departments or business units and want a consistent approach to compliance: the same control framework, the same programmes and the same standards, applied everywhere. At the same time, they need the data for each part of the organisation to stay separate - local teams should see and work on their own context, not the whole organisation's.

Entity Management makes this possible in Impero. You can now structure your compliance work around your actual organisational structure, share programmes across entities and keep each entity's data scoped to the people who need it.

Access rights

Each entity has its own access model. You assign people as Admin, Editor or Viewer for controls and for risks independently, so access reflects what each person's role requires in that part of the organisation. Someone who manages controls for one entity does not automatically have access to another.

Shared programmes with scoped data

Control programmes can be linked to multiple entities. This lets you maintain a single standardised programme and roll it out across your organisation, while responses, evidence and status remain scoped per entity. One programme, many entities, no mixing of data.

Scoped work

Controls and risks are scoped to the entity they belong to, so people working within an entity see what is relevant to them. The right context, for the right people.

Impero Assist

A lot of platforms in the GRC space are promoting an AI-first approach. We are choosing a different path.

Impero Assist is our collection of AI-assisted features for risk and control management, built around one principle: AI assists, humans validate. It is designed to reduce time spent on manual and repetitive tasks, help you analyse and spot trends faster, and provide advanced starting points, while keeping your team in control of every decision.

AI should not make governance decisions independently. Every output from Impero Assist is a proposal you review and accept before anything is applied.

How Impero Assist works by design:

  • Opt-in only. No AI features are enabled by default. Your admin controls what is active.
  • Your data is not used to train AI models.
  • Built to minimise the risk of data leakage.
  • Every suggestion requires human review before it is applied.

Risk Insights summary

Understanding how your risk landscape has shifted over time takes time to piece together manually. Impero Assist can generate a plain-language summary of the Risk Insights view, comparing two points in time and breaking down what changed, where the movement was concentrated and which risks drove it.

You access it from the Risk Map Insights tab by selecting a start and end date, then clicking View insights.

You can find detailed information about this feature here: How can I use Impero Assist to summarise my Risk Insights?

AI descriptions for controls

Writing and maintaining clear, consistent control descriptions is a time-consuming part of building a control framework. Impero Assist can generate a description from scratch based on your control title and programme, or improve an existing one. You can choose from quick actions (rewrite, shorten, convert to a list, summarise) or write your own prompt to guide the output.

You can find detailed information about this feature here: How can I use Impero Assist to write control descriptions?

Suggested tasks for controls

When setting up a control, Impero Assist can suggest relevant task structures based on your control title, description and programme. Suggestions come from predefined templates validated by Impero and are grouped into task blocks that reflect how controls of that type are typically structured. You can add a full block or ignore the suggestions entirely.

Available when creating or editing a control that belongs to a programme and has sufficient information in the title and description.

Getting started

Both features are available now.

Entity Management requires enablement on your account. Reach out to your Customer Success contact to get set up. They'll help you configure entities to match your organisation's structure.

We're hosting a customer webinar on Wednesday, 13 May at 10 a.m. CEST where we'll walk through both features live. If you haven't registered yet, you can secure a spot here: go.impero.com/introduction-to-entity-management-in-impero.

Impero Assist features are active once your admin enables them. Contact your Customer Success contact if you have questions or want guidance on getting the most out of the suggestions.
