Corrected schedule for controls with allocated review time but no reviewer (Release April 2024)

With regards to our upcoming product release in Q2 2024, we would like to provide you with an early information on expected changes, in particular in the control scheduling part.

You want to see how to identify your affect controls. Click here.

Note: We have sent an email to customers that are affected by this change on 15th March 2024.

This release will enable new functionalities in four areas of the Control Management module, which are Reviewer Tasks, Flexible Reminders, Scheduling and Tags. You will find major changes in the control editor alongside an optimized interface design, or in other words, when you create new controls or update existing ones.

As part of the release, we have modified the scheduling system to support separate due dates for the control responsible, the first and the second reviewer. Following the new logic, a control manager will define the final due date of a control and allocate days or hours for the responsible, first and/or second reviewer.

To ensure a smooth transition from the previous scheduling system, we have carefully investigated whether the new logic is in conformity with your current controls. Specifically, we have identified the following affected scenario:

A control has an assignment where a responsible is assigned without a reviewer, however, time is allocated for the review. Please see image 1 and 2 below.

This combination means that the responsible today gets 7 days to submit the control, despite it should only have been 5 (since there is no review)!

With the new release we will be correcting this behavior. This means that if you had a control set up like the above example, the responsible will only have 5 days to submit the control.

Therefore, we would like to provide you with this early information, so you are able to take considerations and/or needed actions, such as reviewing the mentioned scenario, adjusting controls before the release if desired, and especially informing your control managers and contributors in advance.

How to find a list of my affected controls?

At the beginning of April, we will provide you with a full preview of changes of the upcoming release as well as an invitation to a webinar to introduce these changes to you.
